The Institut Français de la Vigne et du Vin is the technical and scientific body serving all the players in the wine industry, benefiting from the dual qualification of Institut Technique Agricole and Institut Technique Agro-alimentaire.
The IFV is therefore one of the major players in the National Rural Agricultural Development Programme and the structural research and innovation policies for the 2014 - 2020 period. It is administered by professional representatives from national organisations in the sector or designated by the production basins.
The IFV's 150 employees (ampelographers, agricultural engineers, geneticists, oenologists, microbiologists, etc.) develop their work in some twenty units present in all the French wine-producing basins.
The IFV thus plays a leading role in the national network of Research and Development players.
