“For quality French hops!”

The AGPH is an association which brings together all those in the French hop production sector. Its aim is to allow French hop growers to control the production of quality raw material which meets the needs and quality requirements of their customers, and to ensure hops are marketed in an economically sustainable fashion.

The main areas of work are:

  • Hop plants and growing techniques, the development of new varieties and regional adaptations etc.
  • Production systems and technological innovations, the testing of new growing techniques, new material and equipment etc.
  • Quality control, technical and treatment programmes, sustainable production etc.
  • Communication and dissemination of information.

For this work, AGPH relies on Producer Groups and their technical services, and works in partnership with national external organisations: FDGDON 67, the Chambers of Agriculture in departments 67 and 59, an agricultural secondary school and, internationally, WYE HOPS Ltd. (UK) and Hüll Research Centre (Germany).

The association is also active in the International Hop Growers’ Convention, which includes representatives from the main hop production regions worldwide.
